Benson Newborn

This was one of my first official sessions after having Benjamin. I’m still not back yet full-time but baby’s come when they want and don’t always follow a schedule.  It felt so good to be back in my environment, in the swing of things, and doing a job that I absolutely love. I’ve had a great maternity leave. I am feeling refreshed and I’ve gotten a chance to catch up and start planning for future sessions. And this was just the session to usher me back into working. Benson was such a great baby to work with and I enjoyed every minute of it. Benson’s mama received this newborn shoot as a gift at a shower from her cousin. What a sweet gift that she will be able to cherish for years to come. Photographs truly are a timeless and cherished gift and make wonderful presents for every occasion. Benson is a baby with many faces and the most precious part of it is that he loves his grandmother so much. He will smile at her in the blink of an eye. It’s like he remembered her from inside the womb and she just brings out the sweetest smiles in him. Benson was named after his great grandpa. I love that legacy of family names and the meaning behind them. Benson you have some big shoes to fill buddy because the things I’ve heard about your great grandpa is that he was one great man! His family’s legacy lived on not only through his name but also in the props we used during the shoot. We got to use his grandfather’s hat and a special blanket with shirts that were his grandpa’s. And if all that weren’t sweet enough, Benson is also a rainbow baby. He was definitely prayed for and was the rainbow after a storm for his family. He was their sweet miracle. Benson, thank you for being such a joy at one of my first sessions back.
