I have to say I have photographed many sessions at Atalaya in Huntington Beach State Parke over the years but I’ve never gotten to photograph a wedding there. I knew that there were people that had weddings there but I’d never had the privilege of shooting one. This past wedding season I finally got my chance. It was such a beautiful wedding. First, who doesn’t love a wedding at the beach? Second, you know that if you are planning a wedding at the beach you’ve got to be laid back and go with the flow and that is exactly how the bride and groom were. Sydney was a dream bride. Not only was she gorgeous and easy to photograph, but anything that I would suggest, she would say “Yep Devon sounds great to me”. Her bridal shoot was like shooting something out of a magazine. Her dress fit her to a “T”. I love the little details of the wedding like the popcorn for their favors and having their table covering as a blue and white floral pattern and blue and white floral ceramics everywhere. The bride and her friends had a great time getting ready that day and everyone was just so relaxed. One of my favorite parts of the entire day was getting to watch the groom and his mom do their dance together. Tears filled her eyes because she knew her last baby boy was married. It might have also been my pregnancy hormones acting up because at the time I was pregnant with my sweet boy Benjamin and I was imagining when our day would come. I love the magic moments that I got to spend with Justin and Sydney out on the beach right after their wedding, and how they made sure their precious baby girl was a big part of the day. I’ve actually been privileged with photographing their sweet girl since the day she was born and I have enjoyed watching Justin and Sydney become parents and now become husband and wife. This wedding wasn’t recent but I’m finally getting to sit down and post things since things have been calming down at home and I just knew this one had to get posted. Thank you Justin and Sydney for letting me be a part of your special moments.
