Charles and Katherine Land Wedding

The first wedding of 2019 is in the books! Keeping things simple is often greatly underrated. But this sweet wedding was the perfect balance of simple, intimate, and fun. Charles and Katherine called me back in the summer and asked me if I wanted to take pictures at their wedding or if I wanted to go as a guest. Charles has been a friend of my husband and mine for a while now. I said I would be honored to take their pictures and document their day. My husband Casey got to watch me work and attend as a guest. It is very rare that he gets to attend the weddings that I am photographing. It was kind of like bring your husband to work day! There were 19 people in total at the whole wedding. They kept it to very close family and friends. That allowed for such an intimate reception. Everyone sat down together and ate a meal. The beginning of their marriage was truly a special gathering of family and friends. Everyone was able to talk back-and-forth and laugh and enjoy themselves. Not only was this reception a sit down dinner but it was a little different, in that we all sat down in the kitchen in which the food was prepared. This venue was so unique and perfect for small intimate weddings. We literally watched and were served a five course meal prepared by a chef. The wedding cake was also very special because a friend made it for Charles and Katherine. They still had a first dance right outside the venue on the grass. It was a perfect start to the 2019 wedding season. Charles and Katherine, thank you for letting me be a part of it and I wish you many, many years of happiness!
