I have been blessed with being able to photograph lots of babies this year. And even more special to me is when I’ve photographed the baby’s mom and dad possibly from their wedding till the newborn! Newborns are a completely different ball game when it comes to taking pictures. Babies force you to slow down and take your time. I don’t rush my babies, I let them call the shots. They eat when they want, I don’t force poses, and I keep their safety first no matter what. By the end of the session I can say that I have truly bonded with baby and I love it. I don’t care how many times I get peed on, or pooped on, or spit up on, babies will always have a special place in my heart. There’s nothing like snuggling a newborn. Often I will get asked what the difference between an at home session looks like versus a studio session. I decided to showcase four sessions (two at home, and two in studio) to show some of things that are different with each. At home sessions are more lifestyle pictures with lots of family poses and details of the nursery and different things around the house and just a few cute poses. Studio sessions are more focused on the baby with lots of props and different poses, and family can be included as well. You choose what kind of images you are looking for. Either way, you’re going to get great images of your precious bundle of love that you can look back on because we all know babies don’t keep.
