Matthew and Allison Evans Wedding

It’s always an honor to get to work with other vendors at weddings and then get to work with them as a client. Last December I received a call from a really nice guy named Matthew who was about to propose to his girlfriend. I knew his family from working with them at previous weddings. They are amazing caterers! He was calling to ask me about photographing that surprise moment. Casey and I were taking the children out of town on the same weekend and I had to unfortunately decline the session. I was sad that I wasn’t able to capture that memory for them and I was also honored that out of all the photographers they had interacted with at weddings, I was the one they wanted to photograph that moment. About a month later, Matthew contacted me again and asked me if they could come in and talk about me photographing their wedding. I was super excited to get this chance to capture their big day. We all instantly clicked and we started scheduling engagement pictures. Allison made my heart so happy when she said that one of the things she was most excited about her wedding was her photographs. Her mother has documented her life since she was a little baby and was always the one behind the camera, so it was fun to document her and her daughter this time. It’s a good feeling knowing your client’s value you. One cool detail about this wedding was the dinner jackets. Matthew’s grand dad and dad, Matt, were in a wedding when his dad was very young and wore white dinner jackets. Then when Matt got married they wore the same white dinner jackets, and Matthew continued the tradition and wore white dinner jackets to his wedding as well. There are three generations of this tradition captured in photographs. This moment means even more to this family now because shortly after the wedding Matthew’s granddaddy passed away. I know that they will cherish these photographs of him forever. There were so many people that Matthew and Allison loved. They had a huge wedding party because they just hated to leave anyone out! But the more the merrier and this wedding was definitely a day of love and joy. This was such a timeless day and it was an honor for me to capture it. 2019-09-17_0001.jpg
